Nursing Home Closes Following Poor State Inspections

Nursing home employees shared with a local news station after their facility closed due to poor state inspections. The nursing home was owned by a chain that operated twelve homes across the United States. After all of the patients have found new homes and the facility is no longer operating, employees are speaking out.

“I love older people, and seeing them treated wrong, that they did the way that they did to them, I’m kinda scared to go back in to another nursing home,” one former employee said. Another employee shared, “We didn’t have food for our residents. So we would have to go shopping at Walmart. She [our supervisor] used to have to come out of her own pocket and we would shop at Walmart and get our residents food for breakfast and lunch and dinner.” The nursing home did not respond to interview requests.
