Nursing Home Closes, Lays Off Workers

A nursing home in one state that recently had 12 patients die is now laying off staff. The facility was evacuated when patients started experiencing results of major heat conditions. The patients were rescued by the public concerned for their welfare. Since that time, the state suspended the facility's license. 

As a result, the owners permanently closed the facility. The layoffs total 245 employees. For more, read the story
