Nursing Home Complaints Broad To County Board By Residents

A nursing home resident at a nursing home is speaking up after observing negligence in caring for patients in greater need than himself. The resident drafting complaints to the county board is of good health, but was admitted to the nursing home for rehabilitation after falling in his home.

“It is so ridiculous. I’m in here and I’m seeing old people that are mistreated, really,” he said. “Those (patients) sit in there and put their (call) light on, and a lot of times, no one ever shows up. I have to go and get somebody to go and look in on them.”

“This building, the operation of this building, is zero. And it’s sad,” a resident told the nursing home board, a volunteer group that includes two county board members. “You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure out the stuff that’s going on wrong here. It’s just blatant.”

Other family members of residents have spoken out against the care received by loved ones at the nursing home facility. Complaints involve shortage of staffing and poor food service, among others.  For more, read the story
