Nursing Home Death Leads To Citation and Fine

A nursing home has been fined by the State Health Department after allowing a patient to die after several hours in 97 degree heat. The patient was left out in the heat and was not checked by nursing staff from 2:30 p.m.-5:00 p.m. according to surveillance video.  At 5:00 p.m., the patient was not responsive and died just 40 minutes later. 

The nursing home is investigating the incident after being cited. The fine for the citation was $3,000. For more, read the story.
