A nursing home employee has been arrested for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars from several patients at the facility. According to court documents, there are potentially twenty-one affected residents of the suspected exploitation. An investigation began once one patient realized his or her account was lacking finances.
The employee’s duties included working directly with the patients’ finances at the nursing home facility. An authoritative figure at the facility said in a statement, “[Our nursing home facility] is deeply saddened by the alleged events and is glad to have been able to discover, initiate, and assist the local authorities with the investigation. We are eager to see justice for all who were victimized. We appreciate the dedication from law enforcement and we will continue to advocate for our residents as well as all vulnerable adults.” For more, read the story.
