Surveillance video captured by a hidden camera has brought allegations against a nursing home employee for abusing a patient. The nurse was caught on camera punching a patient suffering from throat cancer in the face. Because of the cancer, the patient could not speak to answer for bruises that manifested on her body or a broken arm. Staff blamed the injuries on falling out of the bed. With skepticism, a family member placed a hidden camera in their loved one’s room.
What was caught was not fully expected. “There were not enough good reasons as to what happened to her from the staff, other than that she had fallen off the bed or bumped herself. It really has been a traumatic experience for me and my family. I saw my mother being beaten and pushed around.” The former nursing home employee now faces charges for abuse.
