A nursing home caregiver was fired for his Facebook post threatening a patient. In his post, he wrote of his desire to “slap the ever loving bat snot” out of a patient. He also said that if a patient insulted him, he would have less desire to “make sure your call light gets answered every time”.
A nursing professor saw the posts and notified his employer. Various court cases and appeals ensued as the nursing home worker sought unemployment. However, as the case made it to the Supreme Court, he was ultimately denied the right to unemployment, as he broke compliance with company policies. For more, read the story.
