Two nursing home employees have been charged with felonies in connection with the death of a patient. The patient suffered from dementia and was allowed to wander from the facility. One employee reset the lock on the door without verifying that no one had left the facility.
The other employee falsified documentation that she had completed 30 minute room checks for each patient. If she had truly made the room checks, she would have noticed the patient was missing. As a result, the patient ultimately died in mid-thirty degree temperatures and rainy weather. The employees face up to four years in prison and charges of up to $5,000. For more, read the story.
