Nursing Home Employees Shorted Paychecks Before Christmas

Nursing home employees went without pay for their last paycheck after finding the IRS froze their payroll in order to receive funding from the previous owner of the facility. The nursing home was sold and the previous owners were in financial distress. The employees are the ones having to pay now.

One employee expressed their disappointment over the situation, especially with the timing of the holiday season. “It’s not just us, I’m sure a lot of families were depending on that final check to go do their final Christmas shopping. We didn’t have that opportunity simply because the first of the month you pay your bills, the next check you take care of your Christmas,” the employee said.

The current owners are working to rectify the situation, although it is a challenge for all involved. For more, read the story.
