Nursing Home Evacuated Due to Hurricane Damage

Fire and rescue workers were forced to evacuate elderly nursing home residents after the facility’s roof was blown off by hurricane Sandy.  The incident was first reported around 5:45 a.m. Tuesday, according to police. 

In addition to the roof, the nursing home also saw significant interior damage making it necessary to evacuate all residents, according to officials. The residents were transported to nearby facilities using buses and ambulances. For more, read the story.
