Nursing Home Faces Criticism Following Unannounced Inspection for Non-existent Investigations of Abuse

One nursing home facility is facing repercussions after it seemingly failed to conduct investigations following possible allegations of abuse at the facility. According to a report, inspectors showed up at the facility unannounced to routinely examine the facility’s dementia unit. Safe care, support, and inadequate development regarding complaints were among the deficiencies following the inspection.

“The inspector found that a number of complaints in the complaints log could be construed as allegations of abuse and had not been investigated as such. These allegations had not been notified to the Office of the Chief inspector, as required under the regulations,” a health reporter commented. For more, read the story.
