Five nursing homes in the same state received fines after surveyors cited the facilities for various incidents. The incidents involved patients with dementia and bipolar disorder wandering away from the nursing home facility. One patient was not checked for 8 hours, when he should have been monitored every 15 minutes.
Other patients were allowed to fall and suffer injuries to the head and eye socket . Lastly, a patient was told they were not able to have family visits unsupervised, which was incorrect. For more, read the story.
