Nursing Home Facility Inspected Following Resident's Unexpected Death, Fined $8,000 for Deficiencies

In response to a nursing home resident’s recent death, one state’s Department of Health conducted an impromptu investigation of the nursing home facility.  After the investigation, the nursing home was fined more than $8,000 due to deficiencies of resident-related care.  However, the investigation did determine that the nursing home facility was not to blame for the resident’s death that initially sparked the investigation.

Two licensed nurses were suspended following the facility’s investigation.  The nurses will be required to undergo re-training measures to resume work. For more, read the story.
