A nursing home facility has been fined $20,735 due to violations of patient care. The violations included failure to prevent and treat bed sores in 7 of 10 patients reviewed during a survey. One patient had a tissue in her bloody sock.
Other citations involved expired medicine that was not disposed of properly, as well as medications without expiration dates. The facility has been fined more than $40,000 in the past three years for citations. For more, read the story.
