Nursing Home Facility Shuts Down after Federal Funding Discontinued

A nursing home facility is preparing to shut down after it failed to correct serious health and safety concerns identified by the federal government. According to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the facility has only a few weeks remaining to evacuate and transfer all patients in its care who pay by federal funding into new facilities. In this facility, that means evacuating eighty-six out of one hundred and nine patients.

Some of the complaints the nursing home faced included habitual severe weight loss among residents, hygiene concerns, and overall poor patient care. For more, read the story.
