Nursing Home Fails To Report Patient Abuse

A nursing home has been cited after failing to report patient abuse.  Due to patient complaints of abuse, the nursing home was investigated.  The abuser has since been terminated.  However, after there was evidence of abuse, the caregiver was allowed to stay and work the rest of the day.

“The resident stated the certified nurse’s aide choked, hit and scratched the resident because the CNA said the resident was wet and calling repeatedly.  The resident stated a nurse came into the room did nothing about it,” the inspection report said.  For more, read the story
