Nursing Home Fined $46,000 For Negligence In Patient Deaths

A nursing home has been fined nearly $46,000 after three patient deaths as determined by surveys held over 4 months time. The facility revealed deficiencies that involved employing incompetent caregivers, neglecting residents with life-threatening conditions and denying residents their pain medication. In addition to patient deaths, the facility's residents have been left sitting in urine for more than an hour and without answers to call lights for 33 minutes.

The facility has a history of negligent care, showing fines of $121,151 by the state health department and Centers for Medicaid and Medicare in the previous year. For more, read the story
