A nursing home has been cited and fined $25,000. The violation of the standard of care as enforced by the state health department involved the failure to safely transfer a resident who suffered a fracture. The patient died after being admitted to hospice.
“The violation cites failure by the facility to monitor and implement safety precautions,” said the spokeswoman for the state department of health. The facility has requested a hearing to discuss talks of settlement in relation to the incident. For more, read the story.
