A nursing home has been fined $1.2 million by Medicare and Medicaid based on citations. The fine was originally $2.46 million but was cut in half based on waiving the right to appeal. The fine was calculated at $14,000 per day for 176 days.
The nursing home was not able to admit any patients until improvements were made and Medicare and Medicaid funding was revoked. Since then the nursing home has been able to make necessary improvements upon inspection and can now admit patients. For more, read the story.
