A nursing home is being denied federal funding due to the outcome of an investigation involving their facility. The building was found in a very poor state. According to the investigation the facility was extremely dirty and infested with insects. The nursing home also had a shortage of staff, while leaving injuries on patients unattended. These deficiencies are unacceptable to nursing home inspectors, deeming the facility unable to provide their residents a safe and sanitary place to live. Due to the funding cuts, it is unknown whether the nursing home will be able to remain open or be required to shut down. For more, read the story.
