While this holiday season will look different from years past, the Scott County Nursing Center home in Winchester is still trying to make this year special. In years past, they decorated the whole building for its residents, but this year “the center will be holding a competition between groups of staff members, each creating a scene in the center’s yard for the residents to enjoy.”
The decision came after the center decided not to participate in the town’s annual Christmas parade. Now, they are asking for outdoor Christmas decorations from the community to help out their competition. They have already received multiple donations from local businesses and citizens. Staff members are excited to bring some holiday spirit to the Winchester nursing home, and “residents are excited to see what the staff members come up with.”
