Nursing Home Investigation Underway Due To Patient Death

A resident being treated for dementia and high blood pressure recently died due to what doctors believe was an overdose of narcotics. This case is being investigated because when the resident died doctors told family that when a drug screening was done they found narcotics. The family was aware that the resident was never prescribed those types of drugs. The family is concerned as to why the nursing home would give their loved one a drug that was not prescribed to him.

The FBI and the Department of Health are currently investigating this nursing home. Right before the resident’s daughter filed the complaint of her father’s death the nursing home had just went through a different investigation. Soon after this incident a patient from the nursing home was found with a gash in their head, never to be explained. This compilation of incidents has ultimately led to a thorough investigation of the nursing home. For more, read the story
