Nursing Home Issues Stem From Understaffing

Nursing home incidents can stem from nursing home owners that understaff facilities to increase budget money. Staffing is a large part of the budget and keeping the numbers down on personnel increases the numbers in the black. Staff that work in these facilities are aware of the conflict to complete large task lists of patient care and not have enough hours to complete them.

This can lead to falsification of records where nursing home owners want to show that care has been satisfactory, when in fact it has not. This can include turning and repositioning that does not take place or therapy that has not been completed.  This makes it challenging for nursing caregivers to speak out against their owners. however,  when care is not provided, they are encouraged to do so.
