Nursing Home Lawsuit Claims Wrongful Death

The family of  a deceased nursing home patient has filed a lawsuit for wrongful death. The suit claims that the nursing home failed to provide the “necessary care and treatment to prevent the development and deterioration of decubitus ulcers.” The patient was allowed to develop a sacral ulcer under the nursing home’s care. 

The patient was also at risk for aspiration and the family believes he suffered from aspiration while in the nursing home’s care. The ulcer required hospitalization leaving the patient to develop sepsis and ultimately leading to his death. The family claims the patient died from “conditions caused or exacerbated by his development of aspiration pneumonia at [the nursing home].” For more, read the story
