The family of an abused nursing home patient has filed a lawsuit against the facility for allowing sexual abuse to occur. The family identified swelling and bruising on the patient's rectum and vaginal areas. The family reported to the nursing home's administration about the injuries. The facility did nothing to follow up and the injuries worsened the next day.
“It is disgusting to think that someone could do this to anyone, and especially a helpless 84-year-old,” said the patient's son. “Our family is grieving because our mother was abused, raped, tortured and she had to suffer in silence because she could not cry out for help, as she suffers from dementia, Alzheimer’s, and she cannot talk.
