Two lawsuits have been filed against a nursing home citing negligence and wrongful death. Both of the patients admitted suffered from bed sores at the facility. They did not receive proper care or turning and repositioning to avoid the bed sores. One patient was allowed to acquire bed sores at Stage II and III levels in the two months he was at the facility. The other patient was admitted to the hospital once the bed sore or pressure ulcer reached a Stage IV level.
“The injuries [the patient] sustained were a direct result of the facility’s improper insistence on unreasonable profit at the expense of the legally required care to which he was entitled,” the family’s attorney, said in a statement.“They failed to ensure his safety, which directly resulted in the health and safety hazards that led to his death”.
