Nursing Home Makes Changes After Outbreak of Legionnaires' Disease

Officials at one long-term care nursing home are consulting with experts and have installed equipment to disinfect its water after 8 people at the facility were diagnosed with Legionnaires’ disease. According to the Department of Health, no one has died in the outbreak so far.

The facility administrator says a device has been installed which will disinfect the facility’s water.  Legionnella bacteria, found in the homes water, causes pneumonia-like symptoms. For more, read the story.
