This type of infection can be life-threatening and is very dangerous to develop. Isolation, however can be a form of prevention that effectively prevents this.
According to a study on the subject, “Isolation was infrequently used, and the proportion of isolated MDRO infections varied between facilities. Further research is needed to determine whether and when isolation should be used to best decrease risk of MDRO transmission and improve quality of care.” For more, read the story.
