Nursing Home Nurse Placed On Probation For Abuse Of Patient

A nursing home is under watch once again after a nurse has been placed on probation for abuse of a patient in her care at the facility. The patient’s family was concerned for their loved one, subsequently placing cameras to video the patient’s care. The surveillance footage revealed abuse from the nurse caring for their family member.

In response, the patient was removed from the facility and the former employee was fired and placed on probation as a nurse. After the sentencing, the daughter of the victim of neglect had this to say,”While nothing can undo what has happened to our loved one, we hope that this case will serve as a deterrent to other people who work in the care industry, and that it will raise awareness that the system, as it stands, needs improvement.”

This story follows an incident involving a patient death due to 30 pounds of weight loss, compression fractures, and bed sores. The facility is once again in the spotlight with added concern with another incident involving a victim of nursing home neglect. For more, read the story.
