Nursing Home Owner Embezzles Medicaid Funding For Personal Use

A nursing home owner has pleaded guilty to stealing $667,000 from Medicaid funding meant for patient care at his nursing home. The patients suffered the effects of the stolen funds. Missing medication, lack of food, and unpaid medical bills hindered the care of patients to the point they had to be “rescued” from their plight.

The nursing home owner used the funds for personal purchases at adult entertainment clubs and his country club, for gambling and pet care. The owner is facing prison time and repayment of the stolen funds. The nursing home has closed for good. For more, read the story
