A residential care facility owner is now facing charges of involuntary manslaughter after neglecting the bedsores of an 88-year-old woman in her care, which ultimately led to her death. The caregiver had a history of 40 Type A violations since 1996. Type A violations are considered the most serious according to state regulations.
The caregiver listened in court to questions and answers summarizing the fact that according to medical experts, the bedsores had progressed to a level of danger that would have been in effect for multiple days or weeks due to the smell and appearance. For more, read the story.
