Nursing Home Owner Tries To Hide Money In Account To Avoid Paying Judgments

A nursing home owner tried to move funds from his nursing home account to avoid paying judgments awarded by a jury for nursing home abuse. The abuse in one case involved a patient offered food that could not be swallowed and he choked to death. The abuse in another case involved a 95 year old woman and was caught on camera.

“This physical and verbal abuse was videotaped, and the video tape shows the nursing home’s staff shoving a rubber glove into the patient’s mouth, slapping (her) in the face and head, forcefully throwing (her) onto her bed and striking (her) on the chest.” He will now have to pay $1.6 million in addition to the judgment for the nursing home cases.
