Pre-K children are enriching the lives of nursing home patients and preparing for kindergarten at the same time. The children come for show and tell, exercise, and games. Nursing home patients find joy and incentive to participate in actives with the children. Nursing home administrators and school administrators have observed the mutual benefit and look forward to a continued partnership.
“They learn so fast and they do things so quick,” said one of the patients. “We just don’t have the energy anymore like they have. “All the older people seem to get enjoyment out of their visits. We like to talk to them. It’s interesting and it keeps us young, and that part we like very well.” For more, read the story.
