Surveillance video revealed abuse of a nursing home patient after a video camera captured nursing staff actually lifting a resident out of her wheel chair and slamming her on the floor, turning out the lights and leaving her there in darkness for more than an hour while she cried out for help. A nurse came in later to help her back in bed.
The video reveals physical and emotional angst. The state health department viewed the video and fined the facility for the abuse. This story of abuse is one of many for one state with nursing homes among the worst in the country according to at least one organization. For more, read the story.
