A nursing home female patient’s death was ruled a homicide after nursing staff identified another male patient assaulting the female patient. The cause of death was identified as coronary heart disease brought on by attempted strangulation. Officials are still determining if charges will be brought against the patient at fault.
“We’re conducting a criminal investigation to determine whether or not charges will be brought against the male resident,” said the attorney general. “The male resident has significant mental health issues. He has Alzheimer’s dementia. So it’s probably very unlikely that criminal charges will be brought, but that’s something we’re looking into.” For more, read the story.
