Several nursing home employees have been charged with neglect of a patient after the patient died from bed sores. The patient had strict orders for daily wound care ordered by a physician. The facility staff failed to follow the orders for 5 days. The orders involved wound care and repositioning to remove pressure from the wounds. The patient had multiple wounds including a Stage IV wound to his coccyx. The nursing home staff then falsified records in an attempt to cover up the lack of treatment.
