Nursing Home Patient Dies From Burns After Smoking Unattended

The wife of a nursing home patient has filed a lawsuit against a nursing home. The patient was smoking unattended and suffered serious burns. The patient later died from the burn injuries. Nursing home records noted the patient had previously been burned while smoking unattended. 

The patient was supposed to have supervision while smoking and suffered from Parkinsons and bipolar disorder, among other medical ailments. The nursing home is accused of failing to provide a safe environment for the patient. For more, read the story
