Nursing Home Patient Falls Down Facility Steps, Dies From Head Trauma

The family of a former nursing home patient is suing a nursing home after the former patient was allowed to fall down a second story flight of stairs. The patient died shortly after due to blunt force trauma to his head. The door when opened set off an alarm at the facility, however, the alarm was reset by nursing home staff without identifying the door that had been opened and by whom.

The nursing home staff was also negligent in providing the patient with support and failing to follow his care plan. Family members were not notified by the nursing home regarding urgent medical needs of the patient. For more, read the story
