Nursing Home Patient Found Dead After 3 Months Missing

A nursing home patient taken to a doctor appointment failed to remain in the waiting room for his appointment. The patient wandered and went missing for 3 months until his body was found on private property just one mile from the nursing home facility where he was a patient. Medical examiners believe he drowned to death in standing water.

The patient’s family filed a lawsuit stating he suffered from schizophrenia, should have been accompanied to his appointment, and that the doctor’s office should have notified the nursing home facility or ambulance transport when he failed to show for his appointment. The family also states they did not give permission for him to attend the doctor’s appointment. For more, read the story
