A nursing home patient died in a nursing home facility, but the family went untold. The deceased patient's son went to visit his father as he routinely did, however, he arrived to visit his father in a deceased state. “I went in one morning opened the door and I knew as soon as I opened the door he was no longer with us,” said the patient's son. “He was pale, white, I went over and touched his hand like I do every morning and he was cold.”
When the patient's son went to notify a nurse, they said they were already aware, but failed to notify the family. The son filed a complaint with the state as a result. Although the patient can not be brought back to life, the family desires that staff be properly trained to avoid similar incidents and pain for other families in the future. For more, read the story.
