A nursing home patient was found guilty of sexual assault for a third time. The nursing home patient had been convicted and served time in prison for previous assaults. The patient was admitted into another nursing facility as a paraplegic and allowed to go into the room of another patient and sexually abuse her.
The state does not prevent sex offenders from being admitted to nursing homes. However, nursing homes are required to have a plan of care that protects other patients from harm. The patient in this case was not protected from the assault. For more, read the story.
