A nursing home patient suffering from dehydration, a staph infection, dried kidneys, and pneumonia is in anguish along with his family over his lack of care. Despite promises from nursing staff to provide care in the form of turning him to air out his wound, allowing him to air out the infection his back, the patient had to be sent to the hospital. In addition, the patient's care plan was lacking clear instruction to meet his care needs.
“He is 90 years old and he is a navy vet. His wife just passed away back in July and the conditions he’s living in are not acceptable,” said his granddaughter. “It makes me cry when I leave the nursing home.” For more, read the story.
