A nursing home aide has been arraigned for abuse of an elderly patient and falsifying records. The aide was observed pushing and shoving a patient who later suffered a shoulder injury as a direct result. The aide then lied in the patient’s records about how the injury occurred. She also misrepresented the situation to the department of health when they arrived to investigate.
“Nursing home aides are charged with taking care of some of our most vulnerable citizens, and must treat them with the care and respect they deserve,” said the attorney general on the case. “We will prosecute those medical professionals who violate the trust placed in them.” For more, read the story.
