Nursing Home Patient Transported To Vote By EMS Driver

A nursing home resident had the desire to vote when she found out she was required to vote in person in her precinct after her absentee ballot had a mixup. She asked her ambulance driver to take her when she was transported to the doctor for an appointment. The ambulance driver agreed to take her to the polls after her appointment. 

The driver had never done this type of service before, but agreed. Commenting on her right to vote, she said “Because my life depends on it. Everybody’s life depends on it, and I’m not going to let that opportunity go away.” For more, read the story
