Nursing Home Patient Wanders, Found Dead By Police

A nursing home patient suffering from dementia is dead after being allowed to wander away from a picnic hosted by the facility. The patient was supposed to have constant supervision according to his care plan. However, a caregiver left him for 10 minutes, allowing time for him to wander away from the rest of the group.

The facility called 911 after the patient went missing, but he was not found until police discovered a body days later. The family said he was taken off facility grounds without notifying them of his whereabouts. The nursing home representatives would not answer any questions regarding the incident.
