A nursing home patient suffering from dementia wandered from a nursing home and stole an employee's car that still had the keys in it. The nursing home facility has alarms that should sound every time someone leaves with the exception of visitors that are given a code to avoid the alarm sounding. The nursing home owner believes the patient escaped when a visitor exited and therefore the alarm did not sound.
“People should not leave their keys in the car and we will be now not giving out the code for visitors,” said the nursing home owner. “Anyone now who comes in the building or wants to leave the building will have to have a staff to press the code.” For more, read the story.
