A jury has awarded $5.2 million in damages on behalf of three patients who died due to negligent nursing home care. The nursing home patients all required breathing or trach tubes. The patients were not properly monitored to avoid pulling the breathing tubes out of place.
The patients all had call bells that were either turned off or manually turned off by staff. The patients had no way to alert staff through their call bells when they were no longer able to breathe. Three patients died as a result. For more, read the story.
