Nursing Home Patients' Food Purchased By Workers

Nursing home workers concerned patients would go hungry began purchasing food for the patients with their own money. Inspectors came to the facility to find 2 empty freezers with 2 bag of french fries, 6 ice cream bars, and 6 small bowls of what appeared to be ice cream The facility was forced to shut down after the conditions were found unsuitable.

Bills were left unpaid, phone were turned off and trash was overflowing. The food was an added issue that caused enough concern to move the residents out of the facility. The nursing home was part of a chain that went from 27 facilities down to 200 residents with assets seized or sold. For more, read the story
