A nursing home patient's husband is on a mission to help his wife and other patients in her facility to enjoy outdoor living. He has ordained a project to help get the patients in wheelchairs and walkers out on golf carts to be driven by their caregivers on trails nearby that typically would not allow golf carts. However, the gentleman proposed to the trail advisory committee who agreed to offer a permit for the particular activity.
The permit will cover specific days, without infringing upon weekends when there are football and soccer games, joggers and walkers. The outings will be offered once a month. A local company agreed to donate golf carts for the outings. For more, read the story.
