Nursing Home Patients Receive 30,000 Pieces Of Candy From School

Students at a local middle school collected 30,000 pieces of candy to deliver to a nursing home in the community. The candy was collected by students in their home rooms through a contest on which class could receive the highest amount of candy donations. The homeroom that collected the most candy won a pizza party and the opportunity to deliver the candy to a local nursing home.

The nursing home patients will offer the candy to “Trick or Treat-ers“ when they come for Halloween. “There were lots of hugs today, lots of high fives,” said the school's principal. “That went both ways between the residents and the students.” For more, read the story.
